During the last few decades significant progress was made in understanding the origin and properties of magnetic fields – both at small and large scales. The CMF conference is intended to provide a broad, interdisciplinary forum, gathering specialists from various fields of science related to the workshop theme – cosmic magnetic fields – together.
The conference is planned to address the role of the magnetic field in different cosmic objects, ranging from the stars and their coronae (including solar one) up to the cosmological scales of galaxies and galaxy systems. Basic processes, like turbulences and reconnection will also be covered. The overall goal of the workshop is to bring together scientists specialising in theoretical, observational and numerical studies of magnetic fields. During the conference, newest findings and newest instruments (e.g. LOFAR, PLANCK, SOFIA, ALMA SKA, CTA, etc.) will be described.
The conference is intended for professional scientists, PhD students, and Post-Doctoral researchers interested in magnetic fields and their properties. The conference will consist of review and invited talks on the themes of general interest as well as of a limited number of selected, contributed oral presentations. Poster sessions on more specific topics are also planned (all posters will be exhibited from the first to the last day of the conference). To ensure that CMF will be a platform of scientific exchange, a large amount of time for questions during all the sessions will be provided.
