Hugo Station for Extremely Low Frequency Electromagnetic Field Measurements

Hugo Station is located in the Hugo Wildlife Area in Colorado (USA). It was assembled at the JU Astronomical Observatory. It will be used together with Hylaty Station, build in 2005 in Bieszczady Mountains (Poland), to measure electromagnetic waves of extremely low frequencies (0,03 to 300 Hz).

This construction is a second step towards creating a worldwide network of such stations, which will allow for real-time online measurements everywhere on the planet. The third station is located in Patagonia.

The station is placed underground at the geographic location 38.9°N, 103.4°W. The installation was supported by the HARMONIA grant No. 2012/04/M/ST10/00565 from National Science Centre in Poland, supporting our collaboration with American partner institutions: the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Colorado.
