Travel Information
There are several ways to get to Zakopane:
A. Via Kraków
- Fly to Kraków (Airport Balice).
- Get from airport to Main Train & Bus Station in Krakow (in polish Dworzec Główny) by:
- At Main Train & Bus Station you can:
- Go to Regional Bus Station (in polish RDA) and take a bus to Zakopane (about 2h) or,
- take a train to Zakopane, but it takes quite a long time even 3-5h.
B. Via Warszawa
- Fly to Warszawa (Airport Okęcie).
- Go to main Warsaw train station called Warszawa Centralna by: public or private buses or taxi - it takes about 20 min.
- There is a direct train connection Warszawa Centralna-Zakopane (see timetable) it takes about 7-8h.
C. Via Poprad (SK)
- There is possibility to fly to Poprad (Airport Tatry-Poprad) and then take a bus to Zakopane (timetable unfourtunately only in Polish).
HINT: Please note that August in Poland is a peak holiday season, so trains and buses are crowded, and there might be some delays in timetable.
D. By car
- Via Kraków
After you reach Kraków, drive south following direction Zakopane: via Myślenice (7/E77), Nowy Targ (47). Zakopane from Kraków is about 100 km away. - From South
We recommend to cross the Slovakia/Poland border in Sucha Hora/Chochołów, then drive a local road number 958 till Zakopane.
